North East Libraries
There are 234 libraries in the North East. They are home to almost 10 million books, newspapers, journals, DVDs and CDs and contain more than 2,300 PCs that you can use for FREE.Millions of people have already discovered our libraries. In fact more than 14 million people each year use our libraries. You can even enrol your babies and toddlers, you don’t need to be able to read to enjoy the library! You don’t have to live in the North East to benefit from our fantastic libraries. Anyone can use any library in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, regardless of where they live.That means if you are just visiting the North East from another part of the country, you can still benefit from the great facilities at our libraries. It also means that if you live in the North East but are visiting other parts of the country, you will be able to show your library card to use libraries in those areas.
